Colorado River Trips

Our whitewater rafting trips on the Colorado River are the most popular adventures that we offer. Half day, full day, and overnight rafting trips on the Upper Colorado River go out daily from mid-May to September.

Based from our boathouse at Rancho del Rio, our Upper Colorado River Rafting trips offer mild rapids (Class I-II) and occasional Class III rapids at higher water flow. Here at Colorado Rafting Company we run and base all of our Clear Creek Rafting trips out of the historic river corridor of Idaho Springs. Where the gold rush began, Idaho Springs which is located just 30 minutes outside of Denver was actually the first city in all of Colorado, founded in 1859. This quaint town is nestled in the foothills of some of Colorado’s best mountains and holds a unique place in the state’s history. As the place where the Colorado Gold Rush started, this little town holds a lot of secrets, including one of the best river rafting areas in the State! Created through direct snow-melt, Clear Creek offers some amazing, pristine, and whitewater rapid filled rafting for varying ability levels. From more family friendly beginner rafting to hair raising advanced trips, we offer something for everybody.

The Blue River is a hidden gem of whitewater rafting in Colorado. This fast paced float offers Class I-III rapids and Class IV during high water. This stretch of water boasts amazing scenery as you float past the Gore mountain range.

The Blue River rafting section is conveniently located a short drive from our Silverthorne basecamp. The half day Blue River rafting adventure is perfect for groups looking to get a quick thrill. We offer half day guided Stand Up Paddle Board trips on the Upper Colorado River. The stand up paddle board (SUP) craze has hit the Colorado rivers and we are thrilled to offer guided river trips.

First time on a paddle board? No worries! Our river SUP trips take off on a slow moving section of the river and our friendly guides will be there to make sure you get the hang of it. We also offer grab & go SUP rentals and SUP yoga. Check out our stand up paddle board page for more information.

We offer guided half day and full day inflatable kayak river trips on the Upper Colorado River. Inflatable kayaks, commonly referred to as “Duckies”, are an amazing way for the more adventurous spirits to enjoy their own trip down the river.

The waters of the Upper Colorado River make a perfect playground for inflatable kayaks. We also offer inflatable kayak grab & go rentals.
